Guilherme (GC) Chapiewski is a Senior Director of Google Search Platforms where he is responsible for the Knowledge Engine Infrastructure organization.
He has 23 years of experience in hardware and software engineering, big data, distributed systems, and mobile applications across a variety of industries, including fintech, consumer electronics, media, and telecom.
In his current role at Google, GC is tasked with building core platforms that help Google teams organize the world's information and make it accessible to billions of users worldwide through products like Search, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Shopping, and other large-scale products and verticals.
Before joining Google, GC was VP of Engineering at PayPal where he managed the Merchant Enterprise Platform organization and VP of Engineering at Tile where he oversaw the products that led Tile to achieve $100M+ revenue in less than two years. He also held senior engineering and leadership roles at Yahoo and other small and large companies.
GC grew up in Brazil where he met his wife Amanda and had two of his three kids. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid cook and serious amateur cyclist.
