Dr. Saurabh Tiwary is the Vice President and General Manager of Cloud AI at Google, where he leads the strategy and development of the company’s enterprise AI portfolio.
The Cloud AI business, which he oversees, develops AI platforms and products including Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (a unified and comprehensive platform to build, scale, govern, and optimize agents, the integration of Gemini, Google’s most capable family of multimodal models, across the Cloud ecosystem), the Gemini Enterprise App (a collaborative workspace where everyday employees can create, customize, and orchestrate agents), AI search, AI developer, and AI applications (including Apigee, Appsheet, Colab, DocAI, translation, speech, and website search). His team partners closely with Google DeepMind to improve Gemini and other AI models and bring it to external customers and developers globally. Saurabh also serves as a Senior Advisor for CapitalG, Alphabet's independent growth fund.
Previously, he was the Corporate Vice President and Technical Fellow at Microsoft contributing to the AI transformation of the company. He led the Microsoft Turing group driving large scale model training, inference, and incorporation across different Microsoft Products including Microsoft Copilot, Office 365, Windows, Edge browser, Bing, etc. He was also an advisor to Microsoft Ventures Fund (M12) helping them with AI investments, and led Microsoft's technical partnership with OpenAI.
After getting his undergraduate degree from IIT Kanpur, he received his MS and PhD degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and MBA from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. In 2024, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by his alma mater, IIT Kanpur, for “exceptional contributions to AI innovation and leadership in the tech industry”.
