Thang Nguyen connects finance and business intelligence to help CapitalG make better-informed decisions. He brings more than a decade of experience across venture capital and technology companies, combining financial leadership with hands-on technical expertise.
I’ve always enjoyed getting into the details, whether I’m working through a financial model or writing code. At CapitalG, I focus on bringing the firm’s data together so our team can find what they need and use it with confidence. I also help shape how we apply AI across the business, building on that foundation to deepen our analysis and tackle questions that were previously difficult to answer.
Before joining CapitalG, I was Head of FP&A at Skillz, where I led financial planning, grew the team, and helped build the infrastructure for the company’s transition to the public markets. I also spent six years across Alphabet, developing finance systems and processes for Google Ventures, Google X, and the Other Bets portfolio.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and kids. Once they’re asleep, I’m often back at my laptop, learning about AI and trying out ideas on personal projects.
